Al-asīl refers to the period between the late-afternoon (‘Asr) and sunset (Maghrib).
He also says,
“Remember your Lord within yourself, in humility and fear, without raising your voice—morning and evening—and do not be among the heedless.” (Ghafir 55)
And:
“Glorify the praise of your Lord in the evening and in the morning.” (Ghafir 55)
And:
“Glorify the praise of your Lord before the rising of the sun and before its setting.” (Qaf 39)
“And do not drive away those who call upon their Lord morning and evening, seeking His face.” (Al-An‘am 52)
“So He inspired him: ‘Glorify Him morning and evening.’” (Maryam 11)
“And in the night glorify Him, and after the stars have faded.” (At-Tur 49)
“So glorified is Allah when you reach the evening and when you rise in the morning.” (Ar-Rum 17)
“Establish the prayer at the two ends of the day and during parts of the night; surely good deeds erase bad deeds.” (Hud 114)
