14 – (Authentic) Saʿd ibn Abī Waqqāṣ (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: A Bedouin came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, “Messenger of Allah, teach me some words that I may recite.” He answered,
“Say:
lā ilāha illā Allah waḥdahu lā sharīka lah (there is no deity but Allah, alone with no partner);
Allahu akbaru kabīran (Allah is supremely great, immensely so);
wal-ḥamdu lillāhi kathīran (praise belongs to Allah in abundance);
subḥāna Allāhi Rabb al-ʿālamīn (Glory be to Allah, Lord of all creation);
lā ḥawla wa lā quwwata illā billāh al-ʿAzīz al-Ḥakīm (there is neither might nor power except with Allah, the Almighty, the All-Wise).”
The man said, “That is for my Lord; what is for me?” He replied, “Say:
Allāhummaʾghfir lī waʾrḥamnī wahdinī waʿāfinī waʾrzuqnī (O Allah, forgive me, have mercy on me, guide me, grant me well-being, and provide for me).”
When the Bedouin turned away, the Prophet ﷺ remarked, “He has filled his hands with goodness.” ⦗65⦘
