112 – (Sound chain) ʿAbd Allah ibn ʿAmr—may Allah be pleased with them both—reported that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
“Two qualities—or two habits—no Muslim servant holds fast to except that he will enter Paradise. They are easy, yet those who practise them are few: after every obligatory prayer he glorifies Allah ten times, praises Him ten times, and magnifies Him ten times. That makes one hundred and fifty on the tongue, but one thousand five hundred on the scale. And when he lies down on his bed he magnifies Allah thirty-four times, praises Him thirty-three times, and glorifies Him thirty-three times—that is one hundred on the tongue and one thousand on the scale.
I have indeed seen the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, counting them on his hand.”
They asked, “Messenger of Allah, if they are so easy, why do so few people practise them?” He replied, “Satan comes to one of you while he is in bed and lulls him to sleep before he can say them, and he comes to him in his prayer and reminds him of his needs before he can say them.” ⦗113⦘
