101 – (Authentic) ʿĀ’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) reported:
The Messenger of Allah—peace and blessings be upon him—used to say during the prayer:
“O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the grave. I seek refuge in You from the trial of al-Masīḥ al-Dajjāl (the Antichrist). I seek refuge in You from the trials of life and death. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from sin and from heavy debt.”
Someone said to him, “You ask for refuge from debt so frequently!” He replied, “When a man falls into debt he speaks and lies, and he promises and breaks his promise.” ⦗107⦘
