Date of copying: 13 Ramadan 869 AH. The scribe mistakenly reversed the digits and wrote 896 AH, but the former is the correct year; this is also the date he recorded in the colophon at the end of his copy of “Nukhbat al-Fikar” contained in the same codex. His teacher Abū al-Barakāt handed him the book, and that teacher did not pass away until 873 AH.
Scribe: Aḥmad ibn ʿAlī ibn ʿAlī ibn ʿAbd Allah al-Maghrāwī.
Script: an elegant Andalusian hand.
Distinctive features:
1 – A complete copy.
2 – The scribe distinguished the main text from the commentary by using a darker ink.
3 – The scribe transmits the commentary through the author’s disciple Abū al-Barakāt Ibn ʿAzzūz al-Tūnisī (1), who handed him his own copy that had been read to the author and endorsed with an authorization.
4 – Contains a few minor corrections.
