A handwritten copy kept in the al-Ẓāhiriyyah Library, Damascus, Syria.

Extent: (31) folios.
Date of copying: the middle ten days of Ramadan, 851 AH.
Scribe: Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad ibn al-Akhaṣṣāṣī al-Shāfiʿī—a pupil of the author (1).
Script: a clear naskh hand.
Distinctive features:
1 – A complete and carefully executed copy.
2 – Its scribe, Ibn al-Akhaṣṣāṣī, was among the author’s students.
3 – The scribe read it aloud to the author, and it was later read to Shaykh ʿAbd al-Qādir al-Ṣaffūrī (2) in 1077 AH.
(1) Ahmad b. Muhammad b. Muhammad Ibn al-Akhsasi; he was known for piety, open-heartedness, humility, warm-heartedness, and eagerness to associate with the righteous. He died in 889 AH. See: al-Dawʾ al-lamiʿ 2:194.
(2) Abd al-Qadir b. Mustafa al-Saffuri, a Damascene Shafi‘i and eminent investigator, was among the foremost scholars of his era, widely praised and celebrated. He died in 1081 AH. See: Khulasat al-athar fi aʿyan al-qarn al-hadi ʿashar by al-Muhibbi al-Hamawi 2:467.

١ - نسخةٌ تامَّةٌ، ومتقنةٌ.
٢ - ناسخها ابن الأخصاصيِّ من تلاميذ المصنِّف.
٣ - قرأها ناسخُها على المصنِّف، وهي مقروءةٌ أيضاً على الشَّيخ عبد القادر الصَّفُّورِيِّ (٢) عام (١٠٧٧ هـ).
(١) هو: أحمد بن محمَّد بن محمَّد ابن الأخصاصيِّ؛ كان الغالبَ عليه الخيرُ وسَلامةُ الصَّدر والتَّواضع والتَّودُّد والرَّغبة في الصّالحين، توفِّي سنة (٨٨٩ هـ). انظر: الضَّوء اللَّامع (٢/ ١٩٤).
(٢) هو: عبد القادر بن مصطفى الصَّفُّورِيُّ، الدِّمشقيُّ، الشَّافعيُّ، المحقِّقُ الكبير، كان من أساطين أفاضلِ عصرِه، مشهورُ الذِّكر، بعيد الصِّيت، توفِّي سنة (١٠٨١ هـ). خلاصة الأثر في أعيان القرن الحادي عشر للمحبِّي الحمويِّ (٢/ ٤٦٧).
