A handwritten copy kept in the Princeton Garrett Library, USA.
Shelfmark: (3949).
Extent: (54) folios.
Date of copying: 3rd of Rajab, 850 AH.
Scribe: Muḥammad ibn Muḥammad ibn Muḥammad ibn al-Mughayzil—also called Ibn Ḥammād—al-Ḥamawī, al-Shāfiʿī, al-ʿAbdarī, one of the author’s students (1).
Script: a clear naskh hand.
Distinctive features:
1 – A complete, carefully produced copy.
2 – It was read aloud to the author: the scribe recited part of it to him, after which Burhān al-Dīn al-Biqāʿī completed the reading. Present at the session were, among others, Shams al-Dīn al-Sakhāwī and Muḥammad ibn Muḥammad ibn Fahd al-Makkī (2), the latter being the one who recorded the certificate of audition.
3 – It contains addenda and corrections.
