- Among the jurists are: Abū Ḥanīfa (d. 150 AH), his disciple Muḥammad ibn al-Ḥasan (d. 189 AH) in al-Muwaṭṭaʾ—his exact words will be cited on p. 34—al-Shāfiʿī al-Qurashī (d. 204 AH), and the previously mentioned al-ʿAynī (d. 855 AH), who says in al-Bināya fī Sharḥ al-Hidāya (2/58):
“It is that with which a woman covers her head.”

٣ - ومن الفقهاء: أبو حنيفة (ت ١٥٠) وتلميذه محمد بن الحسن (ت ١٨٩) في " الموطأ " وستأتي عبارته في (ص ٣٤) والشافعي القرشي (ت ٢٠٤) والعيني (٨٥٥) وتقدم قال في " البناية في شرح الهداية " (٢ / ٥٨) :
هو ما تغطي به المرأة رأسها
