- In al-Jarḥ wa al-Taʿdīl by Ibn Abī Ḥātim one finds:
First: Ibn ʿUyaynah said, “He was a ḥāfiẓ (a master memorizer).”
Second: Abū Zurʿah al-Dimashqī reported: “I asked Duhaym, ‘What did those you met say about Saʿīd b. Bishr?’ He replied, ‘They deemed him trustworthy, and he was a ḥāfiẓ.’”
Third: My father and Abū Zurʿah said, “In our view, he is truthful.”
Fourth: I heard my father object to those who had placed him in the Book of Weak Narrators, saying, “He should be removed from it.”
٢ - الجرح والتعديل " لابن أبي حاتم فإذا رجعت إليه وجدت فيه:
أولا: عن ابن عيينة: " كان حافظا "
ثانيا: عن أبي زرعة الدمشقي قال: سألت دحيما: ما كان قول من أدركت في سعيد بن بشر؟ فقال:
يوثقونه وكان حافظا
ثالثا: قال أبي وأبو زرعة:
محله الصدق عندنا
رابعا: سمعت أبي ينكر على من أدخله في " كتاب الضعفاء " وقال: " يحول منه "
