—all the household services go completely to waste: minding the small children, nursing those who are still at the breast, and preparing food and drink for the husband when he returns from work. If someone were hired to take her place, that employee would end up sitting idle in the very house from whose inactivity the woman had fled, so the outcome would circle back to square one. Moreover, a woman’s venturing out and exposing herself results in the loss of both honour and religion.” End quote.
So fear Allah, dear Muslim sister, and do not be duped by this spiteful propaganda, for the real-life condition of the women who have succumbed to it is the clearest evidence of its corruption and failure—experience is the best proof. Hasten, dear Muslim sister, to marry while you are still a sought-after young woman; do not postpone it for the sake of further study or a salaried post, for a successful marriage is your happiness and comfort. It compensates for every degree and job, whereas no amount of education or employment, however lofty, can compensate for the loss of it.
Attend to your household and raise your children, for this is your primary, fruitful task in life; seek no substitute for it, for nothing equals it. Do not let the opportunity to marry a righteous man slip away, for the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “When someone whose religion and character you approve of comes to you seeking marriage, then marry him; if you do not, there will be tribulation on earth and widespread corruption.” (1)
