that to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he said, “Is she detaining us?” I replied, “O Messenger of Allah, she has already performed the Ifadah and circumambulated the House; her menstruation began only after the Ifadah.” He said, “Then let her depart.” 1
Ibn ʿAbbas reported: “The people were commanded that their last act at the House be (circumambulation), but this requirement was lightened for the menstruating woman.” 2 He also related: “The Prophet ﷺ granted the menstruating woman permission to leave before circumambulating the House, provided she had already performed the Ifadah.” 3
Imam al-Nawawi said in al-Majmuʿ (8/281): “Ibn al-Mundhir stated: ‘This is the view of the majority of scholars, among them Malik, al-Awzaʿi, al-Thawri, Ahmad, Ishaq, Abu Thawr, Abu Hanifah, and others.’” End quote.
Ibn Qudamah said in al-Mughni (3/461): “This is the position adopted by the jurists of all the major centers. The ruling for a woman in post-partum bleeding (nifas) is identical to that for a menstruating woman, because the rulings of nifas mirror those of menstruation with respect to what is obligatory and what is waived.” End quote.
