(1) Those among the Muslims whose hearts are diseased want the woman to become a cheap commodity in the marketplace of carnal appetites and satanic impulses—an exposed article upon which they may feast their eyes, or a means to obtain something even more depraved. For that reason they strive to drive her out of her home so that she may work side by side with men, or serve them as a nurse in a hospital, or as a flight attendant, or as a student or teacher in mixed classrooms, or as an actress on stage, a singer, or a broadcaster in the various media, unveiled and seductive in both voice and appearance. Lewd magazines have taken the houses of alluring, scantily-clad young women as a tool to promote and market their issues, and some merchants and factories have likewise exploited such images to advertise their goods, placing them on their displays and products. Because of these misguided measures the woman has abandoned her true role in the home, compelling husbands to hire foreign maids to raise their children and manage their households—an arrangement that has spawned many trials and unleashed great evils.
