voluntarily, especially on those days for which fasting is recommended: Monday, Thursday, the three middle days of every month, the six days of Shawwal, the first ten days of Dhu al-Hijjah, the Day of Arafah, and the Day of Ashura together with either the day before it or the day after it. However, she ought not to undertake any voluntary fast while she still owes make-up days from Ramadan; she must first repay what she owes. Allah knows best.

4 – If a menstruating woman becomes pure during the daytime in Ramadan, she must refrain for the remainder of that day and later make it up along with the other days she missed because of menstruation. Abstaining for the rest of that day is obligatory out of respect for the sacred time.
