and he further interpreted it as a valley in Hell.

Women have rulings in the prayer that are specific to them, and they are clarified as follows:

[No adhān or iqāmah for a woman]
1 – A woman is not required to give the adhān (call to prayer) or the iqāmah (second call), because the adhān was legislated to be proclaimed aloud, and a woman is not permitted to raise her voice. Hence neither call is valid from her. Al-Mughnī (2|68) states: “We know of no disagreement on this.”

[The whole woman is ‘awrah in the prayer except her face]
2 – A woman’s entire body is ‘awrah during the prayer except for her face. The scholars differ regarding her hands and feet. All of this applies so long as no non-maḥram man can see her; if a non-maḥram man can see her, she must cover herself, just as she is obliged to cover herself from men outside the prayer. Therefore, in the prayer she must cover her head and neck and the rest of her body down to the tops of her feet.

The Prophet ﷺ said: “Allah does not accept the prayer of a menstruating female—that is, one who has reached the age of menses—unless she is wearing a khimār.” (1) A khimār is a garment that covers the head and neck.

Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) reported that she asked the Prophet ﷺ, “May a woman pray in a long shirt and a khimār without an izār (lower wrap)?” He replied, “Yes, if the shirt is long enough to cover the tops of her feet.” (2)

These two hadiths indicate that, in her prayer, she must cover her head
