Salat al-Musafir - al-Safar wa Ahkamuhu fi Daw al-Kitab wa al-Sunnah - Sa’id Ibn Wahf al-Qahtani - (15)

11 – When a man who has more than one wife plans to travel with one of them, he should draw lots among them; whichever wife’s lot is selected accompanies him. ʿĀʾishah  reported: “Whenever the Messenger of Allah ﷺ intended to travel, he would cast lots among his wives, and whichever one’s lot came up, he would take her with him.” (1) This is the Sunnah: if he wishes to travel with some of his wives, drawing lots brings great ease. (2)

12 – It is recommended that he set out on a Thursday in the early morning, following the practice of the Prophet ﷺ. Kaʿb ibn Mālik  said, “Hardly ever would the Messenger of Allah ﷺ depart on a journey except on a Thursday.” (3) He ﷺ also prayed for his community to be blessed in the early hours, saying, “O Allah, bless…"

١١ - إذا أراد السفر بإحدى زوجاته إن كان له أكثر من واحدة أقرع بينهن فأي زوجة وقعت عليها القرعة خرجت معه؛ لحديث عائشة ﵂ قالت: ((كان رسول الله ﷺ إذا أراد سفرًا أقرع بين نسائه فأيتهن خرج سهمها خرج بها معه)) (١). وهذا هو السنة، إذا أراد أن يسافر ببعض نسائه، فالقرعة فيها راحة عظيمة (٢). ١٢ - يستحب له أن يخرج للسفر يوم الخميس من أول النهار؛ لفعله ﷺ. قال كعب بن مالك ﵁: ((لقلَّما كان رسول الله ﷺ يخرج إذا خرج في سفر إلا يوم الخميس)) (٣). ودعا لأمته ﷺ بالبركة في أول النهار فقال: ((اللهم بارك
