a materialistic outlook that has neither compass nor ultimate goal in this life except a purely animal existence. Capitalism, for its part, cares only for hoarding wealth from any source whatsoever, heedless of whether it is lawful or unlawful, with no kindness or mercy toward the poor and destitute. The foundation of its economy is usury—open war against Allah and His Messenger—bringing destruction upon nations and individuals alike and draining the lifeblood of impoverished peoples. What sane person—let alone one who possesses even a mustard seed of faith—would consent to live by such ideologies, bereft of reason, religion, or any sound purpose for which to strive and struggle? These doctrines infiltrated Muslim lands only after true religion had faded from the majority, when people were raised in aimlessness and lived in a state of dependency.
- Likewise, affiliating with pagan parties and racist nationalisms is itself disbelief and apostasy from Islam, for Islam rejects tribal bigotry and pre-Islamic chauvinism. Allah the Exalted says: “O mankind, We created you from a male and a female, and made you into peoples and tribes so that you might come to know one another. Surely the most honorable of you in Allah’s sight is the most God-fearing of you.” (Qur’an 49:13)
