the image-makers. He further declared that they will endure the severest punishment on the Day of Resurrection. He commanded that all images be obliterated, and he informed us that the angels do not enter a house that contains an image. All these injunctions were issued because of the corruption images cause and the serious threat they pose to the community’s creed. Whether these statues and pictures are set up in meeting halls, public squares, or gardens, their installation is categorically forbidden by the Sacred Law, for it is a gateway to polytheism and the ruin of faith. Muslims must safeguard their creed, for it is the wellspring of their strength and true happiness.
