Deviation in human life

God created His creatures so that they might worship Him, and He provided them with all that would help them do so from His own provision. The Exalted says, “I did not create jinn and mankind except to worship Me. I seek from them no provision, nor do I need them to feed Me. Surely, Allah alone is the All-Provider, the Possessor of Power, the Strong.” ⦗51:56-58⦘

When left to its original nature, the human soul acknowledges God’s exclusive divinity, loves Him, worships Him, and refuses to associate anything with Him. What corrupts that nature and diverts it from the truth is the alluring deception that the devils among humankind and jinn suggest to one another in embellished speech. Monotheism is implanted in the very fitrah, whereas polytheism is a transient, alien intrusion. The Almighty says, “So turn your face toward the religion, inclining exclusively to the truth—the fitrah of Allah upon which He has created humankind. There is no altering the creation of Allah.” ⦗30:30⦘

The Prophet ﷺ said, “Every child is born upon the fitrah; then his parents turn him into a Jew, a Christian, or a Magian.” (1) Accordingly, the original state of the children of Adam is pure monotheism.
