Al-Thamar al-MustatabNasir al-Din al-Albani

Al-Tayālisī and Aḥmad also report it through several chains from him, and—except for al-Bukhārī—they all add the following passage:

“A son of ʿAbd Allāh b. ʿUmar said, ‘We shall not allow them to go out, for they will use it as a pretext.’ Ibn ʿUmar thereupon scolded him and said, ‘I convey to you the statement of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and you say, “We shall not allow them”?’”

In another version related by Muslim and Aḥmad it reads: “He struck him on the chest.”

Aḥmad, in yet a different narration, further adds: “ʿAbd Allāh never spoke to him again until he died.” The chain of transmission for this report is sound.

Aḥmad likewise preserves, in a fourth route, the second additional clause, transmitted through Layth b. Abī Sulaym from Mujāhid. Although Layth is weak, this specific addition is authentic, for it appears in other ḥadiths, as will be shown below.

3 – Nāfiʿ relates from him the wording: “Do not prevent the female servants of Allah from the mosques of Allah.”

Al-Bukhārī, Muslim, Abū Dāwūd, and Aḥmad record it through several chains from Nāfiʿ. Al-Bukhārī alone prefaces it with: “A wife of ʿUmar used to attend the dawn and night prayers in congregation in the mosque….”
