It was also reported by Yazīd ibn al-Hād, by al-Tirmidhī, and by Aḥmad as well, all three of them through Maʿmar, from al-Zuhrī, on the authority of Saʿīd ibn al-Musayyib alone.
In the recension preserved by al-Nasāʾī and Aḥmad through Sufyān the first additional clause appears, while Aḥmad’s transmission through Maʿmar contains the second addition.
The ḥadīth was then transmitted via a second route: al-Tirmidhī through Maʿmar, al-Ṭayālisī through Ibn Abī Dhīb, Aḥmad through ʿUqayl, and al-Ṭaḥāwī through Yazīd ibn al-Hād. All four of these trace it back to al-Zuhrī, who said: “Abū Salamah ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān related it to me.” In Maʿmar’s version the first, second, and third additions are present.
After that, al-Ṭaḥāwī, al-Bayhaqī, al-Ṭayālisī, and Aḥmad also recorded it through another chain from Abū Salamah with similar wording. One of Aḥmad’s reports includes the fourth addition, and in yet another of his wordings: “When one of you hears the iqāmah, let him come …” — the ḥadīth continues in like manner.
(3) A transmission from Maʿmar, via Hammām, from Abū Hurayrah; it was recorded by Muslim and Aḥmad with similar wording.
(4) A transmission from Hishām ibn Ḥassān, from Muḥammad ibn Sīrīn, from him; it was recorded by Muslim, al-Ṭaḥāwī, and Aḥmad as well, and in it appear the second and fourth additions.
