his eyes, and only that portion of this world which has been decreed for him will come to him.”
The basis for this is expressed in the words of Allah Most High (1):
“I created jinn and mankind only to worship Me. (56) I seek no provision from them, nor do I seek that they should feed Me. (57) Indeed, Allah is the Provider, the Possessor of Power, the Strong.” [al-Dhāriyāt: 56–58]
We ask Almighty Allah to grant us, all our brethren, and all Muslims success in the words and deeds that He loves for us and with which He is pleased. There is no might or power except through Him. All praise belongs to Allah, Lord of all worlds. May Allah send blessings and abundant peace upon Muhammad, his family, and his Companions. (2)
The following appears at the end of the original manuscript:
I copied this from a copy, most of which was in the author’s own hand—may Allah cause benefit through him.
Its transcription was completed early on Friday morning, 8 Rabī al-Awwal 781 AH. Praise belongs to Allah alone.
(1) The passage from “Muādh ibn Jabal …” to this point is absent from manuscript Yā.
(2) The colophon in manuscript Yā reads: “Praise be to Allah alone. May Allah bless our master Muhammad, his family, and his Companions, and grant them abundant peace. He is sufficient for us and the best Disposer of affairs.” The colophon in manuscript Zā reads: “… except through Allah, the Most High, the Magnificent. Praise be to Allah, Lord of all worlds. May Allah bless the master of the prophets and messengers … of all creation, Muhammad, and all his family, Companions, and descendants.” Manuscript Bā reads: “Praise be to Allah, Lord of all worlds. May Allah bless Muhammad, the unlettered Prophet, his family, and his Companions, and grant them peace. May Allah forgive its copyist and its reader … and all Muslims.” Manuscript Lām reads: “This is the end of what could be completed of *al-Siyāsa al-Shariyya*. Finished. May Allah bless our master Muhammad, his family, and his Companions, and grant them abundant peace.”
