the subject of the book; rather, it consists of praise of Allah, Glorious and Exalted is He. This is undoubtedly not the shaykh’s doing.
- Some chapters were abridged so severely as to impair their meaning! A chapter that occupies seven pages or so in our manuscript occupies only about one page in the abridged copies, as can be seen on pp. 210 and 217. We have reproduced these abridged chapters in full in the footnotes to the book, so that the difference between the text in our edition and the abridger’s work and method of abridgment may be clearly recognized.
بموضوع الكتاب، بل هي في الثناء على الله ﷿، فهذا من غير صنيع الشيخ بلا شك.
٣ - أن بعض الفصول مختصرة اختصارًا مخلًّا! فبينما هو في نسختنا في سبع صفحات أو نحوها؛ هو في النسخ المختصرة في صفحة أو نحوها، كما في (ص ٢١٠ و ٢١٧). وقد أثبتنا الفصول المختصرة برمتها في حواشي الكتاب، حتى يُعرف الفرق بين ما هو في طبعتنا وبين صنيع المُخْتَصِر وطريقته في الاختصار.
