Anything based on lineage, homeland, race, school, or path that departs from the call of Islam and the Quran is among the rallying cries of the Age of Ignorance. Indeed, when two men—one from the Emigrants and the other from the Helpers—quarreled, the Emigrant cried, “O Emigrants!” and the Helper cried, “O Helpers!” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Are you invoking the rallying cry of the Age of Ignorance while I am (1) here among you?” (2) He became exceedingly angry at this.
