And He, exalted is He, says: “The believers are only those who believe in Allah and His Messenger, then entertain no doubt, and strive with their wealth and their lives in the way of Allah. It is they who are truthful” [al-Hujurāt: 15]. And He, exalted is He, says: “Do you regard providing water to the pilgrims and maintaining the Sacred Mosque as equal to the deeds of one who believes in Allah and the Last Day and strives in the way of Allah? They are not equal in the sight of Allah, and Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people. (19) Those who believe, emigrate, and strive in the way of Allah with their wealth and their lives are far higher in rank in the sight of Allah. It is they who are triumphant. (20) Their Lord gives them glad tidings of mercy from Him, His pleasure, and gardens in which they will enjoy lasting bliss, (21) abiding therein forever. Indeed, with Allah is an immense reward” [al-Tawbah: 19–22].
