In al-Bazzār’s Musnad it is related from the Prophet ﷺ:
“Treat the maʿzā (goats) well and remove whatever harms them, for they are among the beasts of Paradise.” (1)
Abū Shaykh al-Aṣbahānī said: “Al-Qāsim ibn Zakariyyā narrated to us; Suwayd ibn Saʿīd narrated to us; Marwān ibn Muʿāwiyah narrated to us, from al-Ḥakam ibn Abī Khālid, from al-Ḥasan al-Baṣrī, from Jābir ibn ʿAbdullāh, that the Prophet ﷺ said:
‘When the people of Paradise enter Paradise, horses of red ruby will come to them—winged steeds that neither urinate nor defecate. They will mount them, and the horses will then fly with them through Paradise to whatever part of Allah’s dominion He wills. The Almighty, the Compeller, will then manifest Himself to them; when they behold Him they will fall down in prostration. He will say, “Raise your heads, for this is not a day of deeds; it is a day of bliss and honor.” They will raise their heads, and Allah will shower them with fragrance. They will pass by dunes of musk, and Allah will send a breeze upon those dunes that will stir their scent over them, so that when they return to their families they are disheveled and dusty.’ (2)
Ibn Abī al-Dunyā said: “Al-Faḍl ibn Jaʿfar narrated to me; Jaʿfar ibn Jasr (3) narrated to us; my father narrated to us, from al-Ḥasan ibn ʿAlī, from ʿAlī (may Allah be pleased with him), who said:
‘I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, “In Paradise there is a tree from whose top come forth garments, and from whose base emerge horses of gold, saddled and bridled with reins of pearl and ruby. They neither defecate nor urinate; they have wings, and their stride is as far as the eye can see. The people of Paradise will ride them, and they will fly with them wherever they wish.
Those who are lower than them in rank will say, ‘Our Lord, by what means did Your servants attain all of this honor?’
It will be said to them, ‘They used to stand in prayer at night while you slept; they used to fast while you ate; they used to spend in charity while you withheld; and they used to fight (in Allah’s cause) while you showed cowardice.’”’ (4)
Mention of the people of Paradise visiting one another and recalling the acts of obedience—and the slip-ups—that were between them in the worldly life
Allah the Exalted says:
“When they turn to one another, questioning each other (25) they will say, ‘Indeed, while we were among our families, we lived in constant fear. (26) So Allah has been gracious to us and has protected us from the punishment of the scorching wind. (27) Truly, before this we used to call upon Him; surely, He is the Most Kind, the Most Merciful.’ (28)” [al-Ṭūr 52:25–28].
And He, Exalted, says:
“So they will advance toward one another, questioning each other (50) a speaker among them will say, ‘Indeed, I had a companion (51) who used to say, “Are you really among those who affirm…?”’ —the verses continue until His saying— ‘Is that better as hospitality, or the tree of zaqqūm? (62)’ [al-Ṣāffāt 37:50–62].
