Abu Dawud al-Tayalisi said:
“ ‘Imran—who is Ibn Dawar (1) al-Qattan—narrated to us, from Qatadah, from Anas, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
‘In Paradise a man will be granted the strength of such-and-such a number of women.’
I said, ‘O Messenger of Allah, will he really be able to manage that?’
He replied, ‘He will be given the strength of one hundred.’
Al-Tirmidhi also transmitted it through Abu Dawud’s chain and declared it ‘sound though singular’ (2).
Al-Tabarani narrated—through al-Husayn ibn ‘Ali al-Ju‘fi, from Za’idah, from Hisham ibn Hassan, from Muhammad ibn Sirin, from Abu Hurayrah—that it was asked:
‘O Messenger of Allah, will we have intimacy?’, and in another wording, ‘Will we be able to consummate with our wives in Paradise?’
He answered, ‘By Him in Whose hand is my soul, a man will lie with one hundred virgins in a single morning.’
Al-Hafiz al-Diya’ remarked, ‘In my judgment this chain meets the criteria of authenticity’ (3).
Al-Bazzar said:
Muhammad ibn Ma‘mar told us; Abu ‘Abd al-Rahman ‘Abd Allah ibn Yazid told us; from ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Ziyad; from ‘Umara ibn Rashid; from Abu Hurayrah, who said:
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked, ‘Will the people of Paradise touch their spouses?’
He replied, ‘Yes: with a member that never wearies and a desire that never ends.’
Al-Bazzar then commented: ‘We know of no one who reported it from ‘Umara ibn Rashid except ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Ziyad. Although ‘Abd al-Rahman was intelligent, he happened upon unknown shaykhs and narrated from them reports that are repudiated; so his ḥadith is considered weak, and this narration is among those criticised’ (4).
Harmalah related—on the authority of Ibn Wahb—that ‘Amr ibn al-Harith informed him, from Darrāj, from ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Hujayrah, from Abu Hurayrah, from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ:
He was asked, ‘Will we have intercourse in Paradise?’
He said, ‘Yes, by Him in Whose hand is my soul—dahman dahman (5); and when he rises from her, she returns purified, a virgin’ (6).
Al-Tabarani said:
Ibrahim ibn Jabir— the jurist of Baghdad—narrated to us; Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al-Malik al-Daqiqi al-Wasiti narrated to us; [Mu‘alla ibn ‘Abd al-Rahman al-Wasiti narrated to us]; Sharik narrated to us, from ‘Asim ibn Sulayman al-Aḥwal, from Abu al-Mutawakkil, from Abu Sa‘id, who said the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
‘When the people of Paradise consummate with their wives, the women return as virgins.’
He (the author) then said, ‘Mu‘alla alone transmitted this’ (7).
Al-Tabarani also said:
Ahmad ibn Yahya al-Hulwani narrated to us; Suwayd ibn Sa‘id narrated to us; Khalid ibn Yazid ibn
