a purifying drink—“Indeed, this is your reward.” (al-Insān 76:21)
Allah, Exalted be He, also says:
“Gardens of perpetual residence which they will enter, where they will be adorned with bracelets of gold and pearls, and their garments therein will be silk.” (Fāṭir 35:33)
And He says:
“Indeed, those who believe and do righteous deeds—We shall never allow the work of any who excels to be lost. (30) They will have Gardens of perpetual residence beneath which rivers flow. There they will be adorned with bracelets of gold and will wear green garments of fine silk and heavy brocade, reclining therein upon couches. Excellent is the reward and beautiful the resting place!” (al-Kahf 18:30–31)
It is authentically reported in the Two Ṣaḥīḥs that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “The believer’s adornment will reach the parts of the body reached by his ablution.” (1)
Al-Ḥasan al-Baṣrī remarked: “Jewelry in Paradise looks more splendid on men than on women.”
Ibn Wahb related: Ibn Luhayʿah told us, from ʿUqayl ibn Khālid, from al-Ḥasan, from Abū Hurayrah, that Abū Umāmah narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ described the ornaments of the people of Paradise, saying:
“They will be encircled with bracelets of gold and silver; their eyes will be outlined with pearls; upon them will be wreaths of pearls and rubies linked together, and on their heads crowns like those of kings—ever youthful, without body hair, their eyes kohled.” (2)
Ibn Abī al-Dunyā recorded: Aḥmad ibn Manīʿ told us, al-Ḥasan ibn Mūsā [Ibn Luhayʿah narrated], from Yazīd ibn Abī Ḥabīb, from Dāwūd ibn ʿĀmir ibn Saʿd ibn Abī Waqqāṣ, from his father, from his grandfather, that the Prophet ﷺ said:
“If a man from the people of Paradise were to appear and merely show his bracelet, its radiance would extinguish the light of the sun just as the sun extinguishes the light of the stars.” (3)
Imam Aḥmad recorded: Yaḥyā ibn Isḥāq narrated to us, Ḥammād ibn Salamah informed us, from Thābit, from Abū Rāfiʿ, from Abū Hurayrah, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“Whoever enters Paradise will enjoy bliss and never suffer; his garments will never wear out, nor will his youth ever fade. In Paradise are things no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and which have never occurred to the human heart.” Muslim transmitted this ḥadīth from Zuhayr ibn Ḥarb, from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Mahdī, from Ḥammād ibn Salamah, up to the words: “his garments will never wear out, nor will his youth ever fade.” (4)
Aḥmad also said: ʿAlī ibn ʿAbd Allāh narrated to us, Muʿādh ibn Hishām related to us, from his father, from Qatādah, from
