Paradise, with all its bloom and verdure. I reached out for a cluster of its grapes to bring it to you, but a barrier was placed between me and it; had I brought it, everyone between heaven and earth would have eaten from it without depleting it.”
In Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim there is a corroborating report transmitted by Abū al-Zubayr from Jābir (1).
Earlier, the Musnad records on the authority of ʿUtbah ibn ʿAbd al-Sulamī that a Bedouin asked the Messenger of Allah about Paradise, “Does it contain grapes?” He replied, “Yes.” The man asked, “How large is a single cluster?” He answered, “The distance of a month’s journey for a pied crow flying without pause.” (2)
Abū al-Qāsim al-Ṭabarānī relates: Muʿādh ibn al-Muthannā told us, ʿAlī ibn al-Madīnī told us, Rayḥān ibn Saʿīd told us, from ʿAbbād ibn Manṣūr, from Ayyūb, from Abū Qilābah, from Abū Asmāʾ, from Thawbān, who said that the Messenger of Allah said, “When a man plucks a fruit in Paradise, another immediately grows in its place.” Ḥāfiẓ al-Ḍiyāʾ remarked, “Some scholars have criticized ʿAbbād.” (3)
Al-Ṭabarānī also reports: ʿAbd Allāh ibn Aḥmad ibn Ḥanbal told us, ʿUqbah ibn Mukram al-ʿAmmī told us, Ribʿī ibn Ibrāhīm ibn ʿUlayyah told us, ʿAwf told us, from Qasāmah ibn Zuhayr, from Abū Mūsā, that the Messenger of Allah said, “When Allah sent Adam down from Paradise, He taught him the craft of every thing and supplied him with fruits from Paradise. Your fruits are from those very fruits, except that they have changed, whereas the fruits of Paradise never change.” (4)

Al-Ḥasan ibn ʿArafah narrated to us: Khalf ibn Khalīfah narrated to us, from Ḥumayd al-Aʿraj, from ʿAbd Allāh ibn al-Ḥārith, from Ibn Masʿūb, who said that the Messenger of Allah told me, “You will look at a bird in Paradise and long for it, and it will fall before you roasted.” (5)
Al-Tirmidhī relates—and he declared it sound—from Anas, who said that the Messenger of Allah was asked about al-Kawthar. He replied, “It is a river my Lord—Exalted is He—has granted me; its water is whiter than milk and sweeter than honey, and upon it are birds whose necks are like the necks of camels.” (6) This report has been cited earlier.
In Tafsīr al-Thaʿlabī it is related, with an elevated chain, from Abū al-Dardāʾ: “Indeed, in Paradise there are birds whose necks are like those of the large Bukht camels, lined up between…"
