And in Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī, through the isnād of Saʿīd ibn Abī ʿArūbah, from Qatādah, from Anas ibn Mālik, from the Prophet ﷺ—concerning the Almighty’s words, “and an outspread shade” (Qur’an 56:30)—he said: “In Paradise there is a tree beneath whose shade a rider can travel for one hundred years without reaching its end” (1).
Aḥmad said: Surayj narrated to us; Fulayḥ narrated to us; from Hilāl ibn ʿAlī, from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Abī ʿAmrah, from Abū Hurayrah, who said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “In Paradise there is a tree beneath whose shade a rider can travel for one hundred years without reaching its end. Recite, if you wish: ‘and an outspread shade’ (Qur’an 56:30).” The Messenger of Allah ﷺ also said: “The span of one of your bows—or the space where his whip lands—in Paradise is better than everything upon which the sun rises and sets.” Al-Bukhārī likewise transmitted it from Muḥammad ibn Sinān, from Fulayḥ (2).
Muslim, by way of al-Aʿraj, from Abū Hurayrah, from the Prophet ﷺ, recorded: “In Paradise there is a tree beneath whose shade a rider can travel for one hundred years without reaching its end” (3).

Another chain: Imām Aḥmad said: Ḥajjāj narrated to us; Layth ibn Saʿd narrated to us; from Saʿīd ibn Abī Saʿīd al-Maqburī, from his father, from Abū Hurayrah, from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, who said: “In Paradise there is a tree beneath whose shade a rider can travel for one hundred years” (5).
Yet another route: Aḥmad said: ʿAbd al-Raḥmān narrated to us, from Ḥammād, from Muḥammad ibn Ziyād, who said: “I heard Abū Hurayrah say:”
