whenever they tipped it to one side, they would eat whatever fruit they pleased, and I ate with them.
He (the narrator) continued:
Then the messenger from that expedition arrived and said, “O Messenger of Allah, such-and-such took place with us, and so-and-so and so-and-so were killed,”—until he enumerated the very twelve men the woman herself had counted.
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “Bring me the woman.”
She was brought, and he said, “Relate your dream to this man.”
She related it, and he replied, “It is exactly as she has said, O Messenger of Allah.” ⦗1⦘
The River Bāriq at the Gate of Paradise
Ahmad said: Yaʿqūb narrated to us; my father narrated to us, from Ibn Isḥāq, from al-Ḥārith ibn Fuḍayl al-Anṣārī, from Maḥmūd ibn Labīd, from Ibn ʿAbbās, who said:
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “The martyrs are by Bāriq—a river at the gate of Paradise—in a green pavilion. Their provision is brought to them from Paradise morning and evening.” ⦗2⦘
[What exists in this world of the rivers of Paradise]
In the ḥadith of the Night Journey, when the Lote Tree of the Utmost Boundary (Sidrat al-Muntahā) is mentioned, he ﷺ said:

“Sayḥān, Jayḥān, the Euphrates, and the Nile are all rivers of Paradise.” ⦗4⦘

Allah caused them to descend from a single spring among the springs of Paradise, from its lowest level, upon the wings of Gabriel. He deposited them in the mountains, set them flowing across the earth, and placed in them benefits for people of every kind, suited to their livelihoods. That is His statement: ‘We sent down water from the sky in due measure and lodged it in the earth, and We are surely Able to take it away’ (Qur’an 23:18).
When the time comes for Gog and Magog to emerge, Allah will send Gabriel, who will raise from the earth the Qur’an, all knowledge, the Black Stone from the corner of the House, the Station of Abraham, the Ark of Moses with whatever it contains, and these rivers…"
