A mention of the vast, magnificent dominion and everlasting bliss granted to the person of the lowest rank in Paradise as well as to the one of the highest rank.
Allah the Exalted says:
“When you look there, you will behold bliss and a mighty kingdom.” (Surah al-Insan, 76:20)
It has already been cited in the hadith of Ibn Mas‘ud concerning the last person to enter Paradise, that Allah will say to him:
“Are you not pleased that you should have the like of this world and ten times as much?” (1)
—and the same meaning is found in other sound narrations as well.
Imam Ahmad said: Husayn ibn Muhammad narrated to us; Israʾil narrated to us; from Thuwair—who is Ibn Abi Fakhtah—from Ibn ʿUmar, who raised it to the Prophet ﷺ, saying:
“The inhabitant of Paradise who occupies the very lowest rank will survey his gardens, his delights, his servants, and his couches over a distance of one thousand years, while the one honored most by Allah is he who will gaze upon His Face morning and evening.” (2)
He then recited: “Faces on that Day will be radiant, looking toward their Lord.” (Surah al-Qiyamah, 75:22–23) (3)
He (Ahmad) also said: Abu Muʿawiyah narrated to us; ʿAbd al-Malik ibn Abjar (4) narrated to us; from Thuwair ibn Abi Fakhtah; from Ibn ʿUmar, who said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ declared:
“The person of the lowest station in Paradise will look out over his dominion for two thousand years; he will see its farthest reaches just as he sees its nearest, beholding his wives and his servants. The one of highest station among them will gaze upon the Face of Allah Most High twice each day.”
Al-Tirmidhi likewise narrated it from ʿAbd ibn Humayd, from Shababah (5), from Israʾil, from Thuwair with this chain. He said: “It has also been reported through other routes from Israʾil, from Thuwair, from Ibn ʿUmar with a marfūʿ attribution.” He added: “Al-Thawri related it from Thuwair, from Mujahid, from Ibn ʿUmar as a saying of his. ʿAbd al-Malik ibn Abjar related it from Thuwair, from Ibn ʿUmar as a mawqūf report—so he said.” (6)
The marfūʿ narration through Ahmad’s route has already been mentioned.
Muslim and al-Tabarani—this is al-Tabarani’s wording—also transmitted, on the authority of Sufyan ibn ʿUyaynah, who said: Mutarrif ibn Ṭarif and ʿAbd al-Malik ibn Saʿid ibn Abjar narrated to us, from al-Shaʿbi, from al-Mughirah ibn Shuʿbah; ʿAbd al-Malik alone raised it (to the Prophet) while Mutarrif did not. He said:
“Moses said: ‘My Lord, inform me about the person of the lowest position in Paradise.’
He said: ‘Yes, he is a man…’”
