“Indeed, Allah has cursed the disbelievers and has prepared for them a blazing Fire, [64] wherein they shall remain forever; they will find therein no protector and no helper. [65] On the Day their faces are turned about in the Fire they will say, ‘If only we had obeyed Allah and obeyed the Messenger!’ [66] And they will say, ‘Our Lord, we obeyed our leaders and elders, and they led us astray from the path. [67] Our Lord, give them double the punishment and curse them with a mighty curse.’” (Qur’an 33:64-68)
And He, exalted, says:
“Those who disbelieve will have the Fire of Jahannam; it will not be finished with them so that they die, nor will any part of its punishment be lightened for them. Thus do We recompense every stubborn ingrate. [36] In it they will cry out, ‘Our Lord, bring us out so that we may do righteous deeds other than those we used to do.’ Did We not give you a life long enough for anyone who would take heed to heed, and the warner came to you? So taste—-for the wrongdoers there is no helper.” (Qur’an 35:36-37)
And He says:
“This is Jahannam which you were promised. [63] Burn in it today because you used to deny. [64] Today We shall seal their mouths, and their hands will speak to Us, and their feet will testify to what they used to earn. [65] If We willed, We could blot out their eyes; then they would race to the path—how then would they see? [66] And if We willed, We could transform them where they stand, so they could neither move on nor return.” (Qur’an 36:63-67)
And He says:
“Gather those who wronged, together with their fellows and whatever they used to worship [22] instead of Allah, then guide them to the path of Jahim. [23] And detain them, for they will be questioned: [24] ‘What is the matter with you that you do not help one another?’ [25] No indeed; today they have surrendered.” (Qur’an 37:22-26)
And He says:
“This—yet for the insolent there is the worst of destinations: [55] Jahannam, where they will burn—an evil resting place! [56] This—let them taste it: boiling water and pus, [57] and other torments of like kind in pairs. [58] A troop will be hurled in with you; they will say, ‘No welcome for them, for they will burn in the Fire!’ [59] They will reply, ‘No, it is you who have no welcome. You prepared this for us—how evil is this abode!’ [60] And they will say, ‘Our Lord, whoever brought this upon us, add to him double punishment in the Fire!’ [61] And they will say, ‘What is wrong with us that we do not see men we used to count among the wicked? [62] Did we take them in ridicule, or have our eyes veered away from them?’ [63] Surely this is the truth: the mutual wrangling of the people of the Fire.” (Qur’an 38:55-64)
And He says:
“Those who disbelieved will be driven to Jahannam in groups. When they reach it, its gates will be opened, and its keepers will say, ‘Did messengers not come to you from among yourselves, reciting to you the verses of your Lord and warning you of the meeting of this Day of yours?’ They will reply, ‘Yes—but the decree of punishment has become binding upon the disbelievers.’ [71] It will be said, ‘Enter the gates of Jahannam to abide therein forever; how wretched is the home of the arrogant!’” (Qur’an 39:71-72)
And He says:
“So Allah protected him from the evil of their schemes, while the people of Pharaoh were surrounded by an evil punishment: [45] The Fire—exposed to it morning and evening; and on the Day the Hour arrives it will be said, ‘Admit Pharaoh’s people into the most severe punishment.’ [46] When they dispute in the Fire, the weak will say to those who were arrogant, ‘We were your followers; can you then avert from us a portion of the Fire?’ [47] Those who were arrogant will say, ‘We are all in it together; Allah has judged between His servants.’ [48] And those in the Fire will say to the keepers of Jahannam, ‘Call upon your Lord to lighten for us a single day of punishment.’ [49] They will say, ‘Did your messengers not come to you with clear proofs?’ They will answer, ‘Yes.’ They will say, ‘Then call—but the call of the disbelievers is only in vain.’ [50] Surely We support Our messengers and those who believe in the life of this world and on the Day when the witnesses stand, [51] the Day when the excuses of the wrongdoers will not avail them; for them is the curse, and for them is the worst abode.” (Qur’an 40:45-52)
And He says:
“Those who denied the Scripture and what We sent with Our messengers will soon know, [70] when shackles are round their necks and chains; they will be dragged, [71] into boiling water; then they will be burned in the Fire. [72] Then it will be said to them, ‘Where are those you used to associate [73] besides Allah?’ They will say, ‘They have left us; indeed, we did not used to call upon anything.’ Thus Allah leads the disbelievers astray. [74] ‘That is because you exulted on earth without right and because you were insolently overjoyed. [75] Enter the gates of Jahannam to abide therein forever; how wretched is the home of the arrogant!’” (Qur’an 40:70-76)
And He says:
“That was the assumption you entertained about your Lord, and it has ruined you, so now you are among the losers. [23] Even if they endure, the Fire is their abode; and if they seek to appease Him, they will not be appeased.” (Qur’an 41:23-24)
