The Honouring of Abraham, the Friend of the Most Merciful (upon him be peace), on the Day of Resurrection before all mankind
Allah, Most High, says: “We granted him his reward in this world, and in the Hereafter he shall surely be among the righteous.” ⦗al-ʿAnkabūt 29:27⦘.
Al-Bukhārī narrates: Muḥammad ibn Bashshār related to us, Ghundar related to us, Shuʿbah narrated from al-Mughīrah ibn al-Nuʿmān, from Saʿīd ibn Jubayr, from Ibn ʿAbbās, who said:
The Prophet ﷺ stood among us delivering a sermon and said:
“You will be gathered before Allah barefoot and naked—‘Just as We began the first creation, We shall repeat it’ ⦗al-Anbiyāʾ 21:104⦘. The first of creation to be clothed on the Day of Resurrection will be Abraham (peace be upon him). Then men of my community will be brought and led off toward the left. I will say, ‘My Lord, my Companions!’ and He will reply, ‘You do not know what they introduced after you.’
I shall then say what the righteous servant said: ‘I was a witness over them while I remained among them, but when You took me, You were the Watcher over them …’ up to His words, ‘the Almighty, the All-Wise’ ⦗al-Māʾidah 5:117-118⦘.”
It will be said, ‘They never ceased turning back on their heels.’ ⦗1⦘
The Mention of Moses (upon him be peace), the Manifestation of His Honour, Majesty, and Eminence before Allah on the Day of Resurrection, and the Vast Spread of His Nation
Allah says: “O you who believe, do not be like those who abused Moses; Allah cleared him of what they alleged, and he was distinguished in Allah’s sight.” ⦗al-Aḥzāb 33:69⦘.
He also says: “Mention in the Book Moses. He was one chosen; indeed he was a messenger-prophet. We called him from the right side of the Mount and drew him close in intimate discourse, and, out of Our mercy, We granted him his brother Aaron, a prophet.” ⦗Maryam 19:51-53⦘.
And He says: “O Moses, I have chosen you above the people by My messages and by My speech.” ⦗al-Aʿrāf 7:144⦘.
And He says: “I cast upon you love from Me so that you would be brought up under My eye …” until His words, “and I have fashioned you for Myself.” ⦗Ṭāhā 20:39-41⦘.
The Quran is filled with the mention of Moses and Allah’s praise of him—exalted is He—to the point that it is as though the whole of the Quran concerned him.
The Prophet ﷺ said, “Do not give me superiority over Moses. On the Day of Resurrection the people will fall unconscious; I will be the first to regain consciousness, and there will be Moses, holding fast to the Throne.” ⦗2⦘
The Most High also says: “Allah spoke to Moses directly.” ⦗al-Nisāʾ 4:164⦘.
It is soundly reported in the accounts of the Night Journey that the Prophet ﷺ passed by Moses that night, while Moses was standing in prayer in his grave, and that he also saw him in the seventh heaven—according to another narration, the sixth—on the same night.
Moses’ law was exceedingly great and his community extraordinarily numerous. Among them were prophets, scholars, devout servants (rabbāniyyūn), rabbis, worshippers, ascetics, the righteous, believers, Muslims, kings, leaders, and dignitaries. They spent long ages in the most prosperous
