Narration of Asmāʾ, the daughter of al-Ṣiddīq (may Allah be pleased with her)
al-Bukhārī said:
Saʿīd ibn Abī Maryam narrated to us, from Nāfiʿ ibn ʿUmar; he said, “Ibn Abī Mulaykah related to me, from Asmāʾ bint Abī Bakr, who said:
The Prophet ﷺ said: “I shall be standing at the Pool, watching to see who among you will reach me. Yet some people will be taken away from me. I will say, ‘My Lord, they are of me and of my community.’ It will be said, ‘Do you know what they did after you? By Allah, they never stopped turning back on their heels.’ ”
Ibn Abī Mulaykah used to say: “O Allah, we seek refuge in You from turning back on our heels or being put to trial in our religion.” Muslim also transmitted it through Dāwūd ibn ʿAmr, from Nāfiʿ ibn ʿUmar, from Ibn Abī Mulaykah, from Asmāʾ, with the same wording (1).

Abū ʿAbd Allah al-Ḥāfiẓ reported to us; ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn al-Ḥasan the judge reported to us; Ibrāhīm ibn al-Ḥusayn reported to us; Ādam reported to us; Isrāʾīl reported to us, from Abū Isḥāq, from Abū ʿUbaydah, who said:
I asked ʿĀʾishah, Mother of the Believers, about al-Kawthar. She replied, “It is a river that your Prophet ﷺ has been granted in Paradise; its banks are hollow pearls, and upon it are vessels as numerous as the stars.” Al-Bukhārī also reported it through Khālid ibn Yazīd al-Kāhilī from Isrāʾīl, and he supported it with the narration of Muṭarrif (2).
Muslim said:
Ibn Abī ʿUmar narrated to us; Yaḥyā ibn Sulaym narrated to us, from Ibn Khuthaym, from ʿAbd Allah ibn ʿUbayd Allah ibn Abī Mulaykah, who heard ʿĀʾishah say:
I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, while he was in the midst of his Companions, say: “I will be at the Pool, awaiting those of you who come to me. By Allah, men will indeed be cut off from me. I will certainly say, ‘O Lord, they are of me and of my community.’ He will say, ‘You have no knowledge of what they did after you; they kept turning back on their heels.’ ” Muslim alone recorded this narration (3).
