Another chain of transmission from Ibn ʿAbbās (may Allah be pleased with him)
Al-Ṭabarānī said: Ibrāhīm ibn Hāshim al-Baghawī narrated to us; Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd al-Wahhāb al-Ḥārithī narrated to us; ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUbayd ibn ʿUmayr narrated to us, from Ibn Abī Mulaykah, from Ibn ʿAbbās, who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“My Pool stretches the distance of a month’s journey; its corners are perfectly even. Its cups are as numerous as the stars in the sky. Its water is whiter than snow, sweeter than honey, and more fragrant—meaning in scent—than musk. Whoever drinks from it a single draught will never thirst again.” (1)

Ibn Abī al-Dunyā said: al-ʿAbbās ibn Muḥammad narrated to us; Ḥusayn ibn Muḥammad al-Marwazī narrated to us; Miḥṣan ibn ʿUqbah al-Yamānī narrated to us, from al-Zubayr ibn Shabīb, from ʿUthmān ibn Ḥāḍir, from Ibn ʿAbbās, who said:
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about the standing before the Lord of all worlds: “Will there be water there?” He replied, “Indeed, by the One in whose hand is my soul, there will certainly be water. Allah’s friends will arrive at the reservoirs of the prophets, and Allah will send seventy thousand angels, each holding a staff of fire, to drive the disbelievers away from the reservoirs of the prophets.” (2)
The narration of ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUmar (may Allah be pleased with him)
Al-Bukhārī said: Musaddad narrated to us; Yaḥyā narrated to us; ʿUbayd Allāh narrated to me; Nāfiʿ narrated from Ibn ʿUmar, from the Prophet ﷺ, who said:
“Before you lies a Pool whose span is that between Jarbāʾ and Adhruḥ.”
Aḥmad transmitted it through Yaḥyā al-Qaṭṭān, and Muslim related it as well through ʿUbayd Allāh, Ayyūb, Mūsā ibn ʿUqbah, and others, from Nāfiʿ. In some versions it reads: “Before you lies a Pool as wide as the distance between Jarbāʾ and Adhruḥ—two towns in Greater Syria. It contains ewers as numerous as the stars in the sky. Whoever reaches it and drinks from it will never thirst again.” (3)
