in their lies and does not help them in their wrongdoing, he is of me and I am of him, and tomorrow, if Allah so wills, he will indeed come to me at the Pool. (1)
Abū al-Qāsim al-Baghawī said:
ʿUthmān ibn Abī Shaybah narrated to us; ʿAlī ibn Mus-hir narrated to us, from Saʿd ibn Ṭāriq, from Ribʿī ibn Ḥirāsh, from Ḥudhayfah, who said:
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “My Pool is certainly farther than Aylah and Aden. By Him in whose hand is my soul, its vessels are more numerous than the stars; it is whiter than milk and sweeter than honey. By Him in whose hand is my soul, I shall surely drive men away from it just as a shepherd drives strange camels from his watering place.”
He was asked, “O Messenger of Allah, will you recognize us on that day?”
He replied, “Yes. You will come to me with radiant faces and limbs, gleaming from the traces of ablution—an attribute that belongs to no one but you.”
[Muslim transmitted it from ʿUthmān ibn Abī Shaybah with this wording, and al-Bukhārī cited it in suspended form, saying: Ḥuṣayn related, from Abū Wāʾil, from Ḥudhayfah, from the Prophet ﷺ.]

[Hadith of al-Ḥasan ibn ʿAlī ibn Abī Ṭālib (may Allah be pleased with him)]
Al-Ṭabarānī said: ʿAbd Allah ibn Aḥmad ibn Ḥanbal and ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Salm al-Rāzī both narrated to us; they said: ʿAbbād ibn Yaʿqūb al-Asadī narrated to us; ʿAlī ibn ʿĀbis (3) narrated to us, from Badr ibn al-Khalīl Abū al-Khalīl, from Abū Kathīr, who said:
I was sitting with al-Ḥasan ibn ʿAlī when a man came and said, “A certain man named Muʿāwiyah ibn Ḥudayj has just abused ʿAlī in vile terms in the presence of Muʿāwiyah.”
Al-Ḥasan asked, “Do you know him?” [He answered, “Yes.”] He said, “When you see him, bring him to me.”
Later the man saw him with ʿAmr ibn Ḥurayth and pointed him out. Al-Ḥasan said, “Are you Muʿāwiyah ibn Ḥudayj?” He remained silent and did not reply three times. Then Al-Ḥasan said, “Are you the one who reviled ʿAlī in the presence of the son of the liver-eater? (4) By Allah, if you reach the Pool—and I do not think you will—you will find him standing there, sleeves rolled up and arms bare, driving the unbelievers and the hypocrites away from the Pool of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ just as strange camels are driven from their owner’s watering place. This is in accordance with the word of the truthful, trustworthy one, Abū al-Qāsim ﷺ.” Al-Ṭabarānī also narrated it through another chain from ʿAlī ibn Abī Ṭalḥah, from al-Ḥasan, as a marfūʿ report. Hadith of Abū ʿUmārah Ḥamzah ibn ʿAbd al-Muṭṭalib (may Allah be pleased with him)
Al-Ṭabarānī said: Yaḥyā ibn Ayyūb al-ʿAllāf al-Miṣrī narrated to us; Saʿīd ibn Abī Maryam narrated to us;
