Another chain from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him)
Aḥmad said: “Yūnus and Ḥasan ibn Mūsā narrated to us and both stated, ‘Ḥammād ibn Salamah informed us.’” Aḥmad likewise transmitted it from ʿAffān, from Ḥammād ibn Salamah, from ʿAlī ibn Zayd, from al-Ḥasan, from Anas: that a group of people mentioned the Pool in the presence of ʿUbayd Allah ibn Ziyād, and he denied it, [asking, “What is the Pool?” When this reached Anas ibn Mālik he said, “Indeed, by Allah, I will take action,” so he came to him and said, “You have spoken about the Pool?”] ʿUbayd Allah asked, “Have you heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ mention it?” He replied, “Yes—more times than I can count—saying:
‘The distance between its two banks is like that between Aylah and Mecca, or between Ṣanʿāʾ and Mecca, and its vessels outnumber the stars in the sky….’”
Aḥmad alone reported this (1).
It was also narrated by Yaḥyā ibn Muḥammad ibn Ṣāʿid, from Suwwār ibn ʿAbd Allah al-Qāḍī al-ʿAnbarī, from Muʿādh ibn Muʿādh al-ʿAnbarī, from Ashʿath ibn ʿAbd al-Malik al-Ḥumrānī, from al-Ḥasan, from Anas ibn Mālik, who said:
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “My Pool spans from such-and-such to such-and-such; within it are vessels as numerous as the stars in the sky, sweeter than honey, colder than ice, and whiter than milk. Whoever drinks from it will never thirst again, and whoever does not drink from it will never be quenched.” (2)

Abū Yaʿlā also said: Abū Khaythamah narrated to us; ʿUmar ibn Yūnus al-Ḥanafī narrated to us; ʿIkrimah—meaning the son of ʿAmmār—narrated to us, from Yazīd al-Raqāshī, who said: I asked, “O Abū Ḥamzah, there are people who declare us to be disbelievers and polytheists.” Anas replied, “They are the worst of all creatures.” I said, “And they deny the Pool.” He said, “I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ…"
