He went on to say in the Book of Zakāh:
Yahyā ibn Bukayr narrated to us; al-Layth narrated to us, from ʿUbayd Allah ibn Abī Jaʿfar. I heard Hamzah ibn ʿAbd Allah ibn ʿUmar say, “I heard ʿAbd Allah ibn ʿUmar say: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, ‘A servant will go on begging from people until, on the Day of Resurrection, he comes with not a shred of flesh left on his face.’” He also said: “On the Day of Resurrection the sun will draw so near that people’s sweat will reach the middle of the ear. While they are in that state they will seek relief from Adam, then from Moses, then from Muhammad ﷺ.”
ʿAbd Allah ibn Yūsuf added (1): al-Layth narrated to me, from Ibn Abī Jaʿfar: “He will intercede so that judgment may be passed between the creation. He will walk on until he takes hold of the ring of the Gate; on that day Allah will raise him to the Praiseworthy Station, and all who are gathered will praise him there.”
Ibn Jarīr likewise related it, from Muhammad ibn ʿAbd Allah ibn ʿAbd al-Ḥakam, from Shuʿayb ibn al-Layth, from his father, with a similar wording (2).
Accounts of the Prophet’s Pool—may Allah give us to drink from it on the Day of Resurrection—have reached us through numerous, mutually corroborating, mass-transmitted reports, however much the noses of [the many estranged, stubborn innovators] who deny its reality may wrinkle. Indeed, it befits them that they be barred from reaching it, for, as some of the early Muslims said, “Whoever belies an honor shall not receive it.” Had those who deny the Pool examined the aḥādīth we are about to cite before making their claim, they would never have uttered it.
A great number of the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) related ḥadīths about the Pool: ʿUbayy ibn Kaʿb, Anas ibn Mālik, al-Ḥasan ibn ʿAlī, Ḥamzah ibn ʿAbd al-Muṭṭalib, al-Barāʾ ibn ʿĀzib, Buraydah ibn al-Ḥuṣayb, Thawbān the freedman of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, Jābir ibn Samurah, Jābir ibn ʿAbd Allah, Jarīr ibn ʿAbd Allah al-Bajalī, Ḥārithah ibn Wahb, Ḥudhayfah ibn Asīd, Ḥudhayfah ibn al-Yamān, Zayd ibn Arqam, ʿAbd Allah ibn ʿAbbās, ʿAbd Allah ibn ʿUmar, ʿAbd Allah ibn ʿAmr ibn al-ʿĀṣ, ʿAbd Allah ibn Masʿūd, ʿUtbah ibn ʿAbd al-Salamī, ʿUthmān ibn Maẓʿūn, al-Mustawrid, ʿUqbah ibn ʿĀmir al-Juhanī, al-Nawwās ibn Samʿān, Abū Umāmah al-Bāhilī, Abū Barzah al-Aslamī, Abū Bakrah, Abū Dharr al-Ghifārī, Abū Saʿīd al-Khuḍrī, Khawlah bint Qays, Abū Hurayrah al-Dawsī, Asmāʾ bint Abī Bakr, ʿĀʾishah, Umm Salamah, and the wife of Ḥamzah—the uncle of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ—who was from the Banū al-Najjār (may Allah be pleased with them all).
