Another chain of transmission:
Aḥmad said: Yazīd narrated to us; Muḥammad ibn Isḥāq informed us, from Nāfiʿ, from Ibn ʿUmar, from the Prophet ﷺ, who said:
“There has never been a prophet before me except that he described him to his nation, and I shall indeed depict him with a description no one before me has given: he is one-eyed, whereas Allah is not one-eyed; his right eye is like a protruding grape.”
This chain is sound and reliable (1).
Al-Tirmidhī said: Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd al-Aʿlā al-Ṣanʿānī narrated to us; al-Muʿtamir ibn Sulaymān narrated to us, from ʿUbayd Allah ibn ʿUmar, from Nāfiʿ, from Ibn ʿUmar, from the Prophet ﷺ, that he was asked about the Dajjāl and replied:
“Know that your Lord is not one-eyed. Know, rather, that he is one-eyed; his right eye is like a bulging grape.”
Al-Tirmidhī said: This ḥadith is ḥasan ṣaḥīḥ. Reports on the same topic have also come from Saʿd, Ḥudhayfah, Abū Hurayrah, Asmāʾ, Jābir ibn ʿAbd Allah, Abū Bakrah, ʿĀʾishah, Anas, Ibn ʿAbbās, and al-Faltān ibn ʿĀṣim (2).
The ḥadith of ʿAbd Allah ibn ʿAmr (may Allah be pleased with him)
Aḥmad said: ʿAbd al-Razzāq narrated to us; Maʿmar narrated to us, from Qatādah, from Shahr ibn Ḥawshab, who said:
When the pledge of allegiance to Yazīd ibn Muʿāwiyah reached us, I travelled to Syria and was told of a gathering that Nauf was holding. I went to him, and just then a man arrived and the people crowded about him beneath a khamiṣah (3); it was ʿAbd Allah ibn ʿAmr ibn al-ʿĀṣ. When Nauf saw him he fell silent. ʿAbd Allah then said:
“I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: ‘There will be a migration after a migration; people will withdraw to the place to which Ibrāhīm migrated. Only the worst of mankind will remain on earth—people whom their own lands will cast out, whom the soul of the All-Merciful will abhor. The Fire will herd them together with the monkeys and the swine, spending the night with them when they spend the night, resting with them when they rest, and devouring whoever lags behind.’
And I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: ‘A group will emerge from my community from the direction of the East. They will recite the Quran, yet it will not pass beyond their throats. Whenever a contingent of them appears it will be cut off—[whenever a contingent of them appears it will be cut off]’—he counted this more than ten times—‘whenever a contingent of them appears it will be cut off, until the Dajjāl emerges among their last remnants.’”
Abū Dāwūd also related it through the narration of Qatādah, from Shahr, from him (4).
Another chain from him:
