Al-Bidayah wa an-NihayahIbn Kathir

Al-Bukhārī and Muslim transmit—through al-Shaʿbī, from Abū Burdah ibn Abī Mūsā, from his father—that the Messenger of God ﷺ said:

“When a man disciplines his slave-girl well, teaches her well, then sets her free and marries her, he shall receive a twofold reward. Whoever first believes in Jesus son of Mary and then believes in me shall receive a twofold reward. Likewise, the servant who fears his Lord and obeys his masters shall receive a twofold reward.”

This is the wording preserved by al-Bukhārī.

Al-Bukhārī also reports: Ibrāhīm ibn Mūsā related to us; Hishām narrated from Maʿmar—"ḥ"—and Maḥmūd related to me; ʿAbd al-Razzāq narrated from Maʿmar, from al-Zuhrī, who said: Sʿīd ibn al-Musayyib told me, from Abū Hurayrah, that the Prophet ﷺ said:

“On the night I was taken on the Night Journey I met Moses.” He then described him, saying, “He was a man—(I think he said) strong-built, with dishevelled hair, as though he belonged to the men of Shanūʾah.” The Prophet continued: “I also met Jesus,” and he described him: “of medium stature, reddish in complexion, as though he had just come out of a bathhouse. And I saw Abraham, and of all his descendants I resemble him the most.”

This tradition has already appeared in the accounts concerning Abraham and Moses.

He further said: Muḥammad ibn Kathīr narrated to us; Isrāʾīl related to us; from ʿUthmān ibn al-Mughīrah; from Mujāhid; from Ibn ʿUmar, who said that the Prophet stated:

“I saw Jesus, Moses, and Abraham. Jesus was reddish-complexioned, curly-haired, broad-chested; Moses was dark-skinned, large-bodied, straight-haired, as though he were one of the men of the Zuṭṭ.”

Al-Bukhārī alone records this wording.

Ibrāhīm ibn al-Munḏir narrated to us; Abū Ḍamrah reported to us; Mūsā ibn ʿUqbah reported to us; from Nāfiʿ, who said: ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUmar related that the Prophet ﷺ once spoke of the Antichrist in the midst of the people, saying, “Indeed God is not one-eyed, whereas the Messiah—” [the report continues].
