Ishāq ibn Bishr related: Idrīs narrated to us from his grandfather Wahb ibn Munabbih, who said: When Jesus reached thirteen years of age, Allah commanded him to return from Egypt to Jerusalem. Joseph, the son of his mother’s maternal uncle, came to receive them, seated both Jesus and his mother on a donkey, and brought them to Jerusalem. There Jesus remained until Allah revealed the Gospel to him, taught him the Torah, and granted him the power to raise the dead, heal illnesses, and disclose the unseen—namely, what people were storing away in their homes. News of his arrival spread; the populace grew uneasy at the marvels he performed and were filled with wonder. He summoned them to Allah, and his mission swiftly became well known among them. (1)
