Imām Abū Jaʿfar ibn Jarīr gives a detailed account of this affair (1), may Allah have mercy on him.
Among the other notable figures who passed away in that year were Aḥmad ibn ʿAbdah al-Ḍabbī (2); Abū al-Ḥasan al-Qawwās, the Qurʾān reciter of Mecca (3); Aḥmad ibn Naṣr al-Naysābūrī (4); Isḥāq ibn Abī Isrāʾīl (5); Ismāʿīl ibn Mūsā, the daughter’s son of al-Suddi (6); Dhū al-Nūn al-Miṣrī (7); Suwār the judge (8); and ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Ibrāhīm, known as Duḥaym (9).
