Al-Bayhaqī (1) said: Abū Zakariyyā ibn Abī Isḥāq al-Muzakkī informed us; Abū ʿAbd Allāh Muḥammad ibn Yaʿqūb narrated to us; Abū Aḥmad Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd al-Wahhāb related to us; Abū Jaʿfar ibn ʿAwn told us; al-Aʿmash narrated, from Mujāhid:
A man bought a camel and came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, “I have just purchased a camel; pray that Allah bless it for me.” The Prophet ﷺ said, “O Allah, bless it for him.” It was only a short while before the camel died. The man then bought another camel, returned to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, “I have bought a camel; ask Allah to bless it for me.” He ﷺ again said, “O Allah, bless it for him.” Not long after, that camel too died. So the man bought a third camel and went back to the Prophet ﷺ saying, “O Messenger of Allah, I have bought two camels and you prayed that Allah bless them, yet they both died. Pray that Allah enable me to ride this one.” The Prophet ﷺ said, “O Allah, make it carry him.” The camel then remained with him for twenty years (2).
Al-Bayhaqī remarked: This is a mursal report, and on the first two occasions the Prophet’s ﷺ supplication was turned toward the man’s affairs of the Hereafter.

Al-Ḥāfiẓ al-Bayhaqī said: Abū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-Sulamī informed us; Ismāʿīl ibn ʿAbd Allāh al-Mīkālī narrated to us; ʿAlī ibn Saʿd al-ʿAskarī related to us; Abū Umayyah ʿAbd Allāh ibn Muḥammad ibn Khallād al-Wāsiṭī narrated to us; Yazīd ibn Hārūn told us; al-Mustalim ibn Saʿīd narrated to us; Khabīb ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Khabīb ibn Isāf, from his father, from his grandfather Khabīb ibn Isāf, said:
I, together with a man from my clan, came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ during one of his expeditions and said, “We wish to witness a battle with you.” He ﷺ asked, “Have you embraced Islam?” We replied, “No.” He said, “We do not seek the aid of idolaters against idolaters.” So we accepted Islam (3) and I took part in battle alongside the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. I received a blow on my shoulder that split it open and left my hand dangling. I went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ; he spat on it, pressed it into place, and it closed up and healed. I then killed the man who had struck me, and afterwards married the daughter of the very man who had wounded me (4). She used to say, “May I never be deprived of the man who adorned you with this girdle,” and I would reply, “Nor may you be deprived of the man who hastened your father (5) to the Fire.”
Imām Aḥmad (6) also relates this ḥadīth from Yazīd ibn Hārūn with the same chain, but without the words: “He spat on it and it healed.”
