He ﷺ also prayed for Saʿd ibn Abī Waqqāṣ, whereupon Saʿd was cured.
Al-Bayhaqī further records that the Prophet ﷺ supplicated for his uncle Abū Ṭālib when the latter fell ill. Abū Ṭālib had asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to beseech his Lord on his behalf; the Prophet did so, and Abū Ṭālib recovered on the spot.
Reports of this nature are exceedingly numerous, and a full enumeration would be lengthy. Al-Bayhaqī has gathered many fine narrations of this type; we have touched on some of them while omitting those with weak chains, considering what we have cited sufficient—and Allah’s help is sought.

It is established in both Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī and Muslim, through the isnād of Zakariyyā ibn Abī Zāʾidah—Muslim adds al-Mughīrah—both from Sharāḥīl al-Shaʿbī, from Jābir ibn ʿAbd Allāh, that Jābir was riding a camel which had become exhausted and was about to let it go. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ caught up with him, struck the camel and prayed for him, whereupon it began to move at a pace it had never shown before.
In another wording: the camel kept running at the head of the herd until I tried to hold its halter and could not restrain it. He ﷺ asked, “How do you find your camel now?” I replied, “Your blessing has reached it, O Messenger of Allah.” Jābir then related that the Prophet ﷺ bought the camel from him. The narrators differ over the exact price, and that Jābir stipulated he be allowed to ride it until they reached Madinah. When they arrived, Jābir brought the camel, the Prophet paid him the agreed price and added extra, then returned the camel to him as well—the ḥadith in full is lengthy.

Al-Bayhaqī—whose wording we follow, though the narration also appears in Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī—relates from Ḥasan ibn Muḥammad al-Marwazī, from Jarīr ibn Ḥāzim, from Muḥammad ibn Sīrīn, from Anas ibn Mālik: The people were startled, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ mounted a slow horse belonging to Abū Ṭalḥah and rode out at full gallop alone. The people mounted and galloped after him, and he said, “Do not be alarmed; this horse is like a sea.” By Allah, it was never outpaced after that day.

Al-Bayhaqī said: Abū Bakr al-Qāḍī informed us, Ḥāmid ibn Muḥammad al-Harawī narrated to us, ʿAlī ibn
