Ibn Mājah likewise transmitted this report through several chains from Sulaymān ibn Mihrān al-Aʿmash, from Shaqīq ibn Salamah Abū Wāʾil, from Masrūq ibn al-Ajdaʿ, from the Mother of the Believers ʿĀʾishah al-Ṣiddīqah—the truthful daughter of the Truthful One, the beloved of the Beloved of Allah, she whom Allah vindicated from above the seven heavens—may He be pleased with her.
Imām Aḥmad said: Isḥāq ibn Yūsuf narrated to us; Sufyān narrated to us, from ʿĀṣim, from Zir ibn Hubaysh, from ʿĀʾishah, who said: “The Messenger of Allah ﷺ left no dinar and no dirham, no bond-woman and no slave, no sheep and no camel.”
He also said: ʿAbd al-Raḥmān narrated to us, from Sufyān, from ʿĀṣim, from Zir, from ʿĀʾishah: “The Messenger of Allah ﷺ left neither dinar nor dirham, neither sheep nor camel.” Sufyān added, “To the best of my knowledge—and I am uncertain about the mention of a male or female slave.” Al-Tirmidhī recorded the same wording in al-Shamāʾil through Bundār, from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Mahdī.
Imām Aḥmad further said: Wakīʿ narrated to us; Misʿar narrated to us, from ʿĀṣim ibn Abī al-Najūd, from Zir, from ʿĀʾishah, who said: “The Messenger of Allah ﷺ left neither dinar nor dirham, neither male slave nor female slave, neither sheep nor camel.” Imām Aḥmad reported this version without any uncertainty.
Al-Bayhaqī also related it through Abū Zakariyyāʾ ibn Abī Isḥāq al-Muzakkī, from Abū ʿAbd Allāh Muḥammad ibn Yaʿqūb, from Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd al-Wahhāb, from Jaʿfar ibn ʿAwn, from Misʿar, from ʿĀṣim, from Zir. ʿĀʾishah said, “You ask me about the inheritance of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ? The Messenger of Allah ﷺ left neither dinar nor dirham, neither male slave nor bond-woman.” Misʿar remarked, “I think he also said: ‘nor sheep nor camel.’”
He added: Misʿar narrated to us from ʿAdī ibn Thābit, from ʿAlī ibn al-Ḥusayn, who said: “The Messenger of Allah ﷺ left neither dinar nor dirham, neither male slave nor bond-woman.”
Moreover, it is authentically established in the two Ṣaḥīḥs, in the narration of al-Aʿmash from Ibrāhīm from al-Aswad, from ʿĀʾishah, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ purchased food on credit from a Jew and pledged an iron coat of mail as collateral.
