So whoever has been entrusted with a deposit must return it to the one who entrusted him.
O people! Satan has despaired of ever being worshipped in your land at the end of time, yet he will be satisfied with leading you astray through trifling deeds. Beware of him with regard to your religion even in the seemingly insignificant acts.
O people! Your women are like captives in your hands. You have taken them only by Allah’s trust and have made their private parts lawful to you by His word. You have rights over them, and they have rights over you. Your right over them is that they must not allow anyone you dislike to tread your beds, and that they must not disobey you in what is reasonable. If they do that, you have no ground to act against them. Their provision and their clothing are incumbent upon you in kindness. Should you strike, then strike without severity.
It is unlawful for anyone to take anything of his brother’s wealth except with his good pleasure.
O people! I have left among you that which, if you hold fast to it, you will never go astray: the Book of Allah. So live by it.
O people! What day is this?"
They replied, "A sacred day."
He said, "And what land is this?"
They replied, "A sacred land."
He said, "And what month is this?"
They replied, "A sacred month."
He said, "Indeed, Allah has made your blood, your property, and your honor inviolable, just as the sanctity of this day in this land and this month. Let those who are present convey it to those who are absent. There will be no prophet after me and no community after you."
He then raised his hands and said, "O Allah, bear witness!"
Mention of the narration stating that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to visit the House every night during the nights of Minā:
Al-Bukhārī said: It is reported from Abū Ḥassān, from Ibn ʿAbbās, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to visit the House during the days of Minā—he mentioned it in a suspended form and with an expression of reservation.
Al-Ḥāfiẓ al-Bayhaqī said: Abū al-Ḥasan ibn ʿAbdān informed us; Aḥmad ibn ʿUbayd al-Ṣaffār narrated to us; al-ʿUmari narrated to us; Ibn ʿArʿarah narrated to us: Muʿādh ibn Hishām handed us a notebook, saying, “I heard it from my father, though he did not read it,” in which was: from Qatādah, from Abū Ḥassān, from Ibn ʿAbbās, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to visit the House every night as long as he was in Minā. Ibn ʿArʿarah said, “I have seen no one else who concurs with him on this.”
Al-Bayhaqī added: Al-Thawrī narrated in al-Jāmiʿ from Ṭāwūs, from Ibn ʿAbbās, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pour forth each night—that is, on the nights of Minā—and this is mursal.
