Ahmad also reported:
Muhammad ibn Bakr related to us; Rawḥ transmitted to us; Ibn Jurayj narrated to me from Muhammad ibn Abī Bakr ibn Muhammad ibn ʿAmr, from his father, from Abū al-Baddāḥ ibn ʿĀṣim ibn ʿAdī, from his father, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ granted the herdsmen a concession: they were to alternate, stoning on the Day of Sacrifice, then leaving the rite for a full day and night, and stoning again the following day.
Imam Ahmad likewise said: ʿAbd al-Raḥmān narrated to us; Mālik narrated to us from ʿAbd Allah ibn Abī Bakr, from his father, from Abū al-Baddāḥ ibn ʿĀṣim ibn ʿAdī, from his father, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ allowed the camel-herders to spend the nights away from Minā. They were to stone on the Day of Sacrifice, then again the next day—or two days later—for two consecutive days, and finally on the day of departure. A similar wording is found in the report of ʿAbd al-Razzāq from Mālik. The four compilers of the Sunan also recorded the ḥadīth, both through Mālik and through Sufyān ibn ʿUyaynah.
Al-Tirmidhī commented, “Mālik’s version is the soundest; it is a ḥadīth that is ḥasan ṣaḥīḥ.”

That was the sermon which the Messenger of Allah ﷺ delivered in Minā.” Abū Dāwūd alone recorded this ḥadīth.
He further said: Muḥammad ibn Bashshār narrated to us; Abū ʿĀṣim narrated to us; Rabīʿah ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Ḥiṣn narrated to me: my grandmother, Sarrāʾ bint Nabḥān—who had been the mistress of her household in the pre-Islamic period—told me: “The Messenger of Allah ﷺ addressed us on the day…"
