Muslim likewise transmitted—through Yaḥyā ibn Yaḥyā, from Mālik, from al-Zuhrī, from Sālim, from Ibn ʿUmar—that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed Maghrib and ʿIshāʾ together at Muzdalifah.
Muslim further said: Ḥarmalah narrated to me; Ibn Wahb narrated to me; Yūnus informed me, from Ibn Shihāb, that ʿUbayd Allāh ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUmar told him that his father said, “The Messenger of Allah ﷺ combined Maghrib and ʿIshāʾ at Jamʿ, with no prostration between them. He prayed three rakʿahs for Maghrib and two for ʿIshāʾ, and ʿAbd Allāh continued to pray in Jamʿ in that very manner until he met Allah.”
Muslim also reported—by way of Shuʿbah, from al-Ḥakam and Salamah ibn Kuhayl, from Saʿīd ibn Jubayr—that Saʿīd performed Maghrib at Jamʿ and ʿIshāʾ with a single iqāmah, and he related that Ibn ʿUmar had done the same, adding that Ibn ʿUmar said the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had acted likewise.
He likewise narrated it through al-Thawrī, from Salamah, from Saʿīd ibn Jubayr, from Ibn ʿUmar, who said: “The Messenger of Allah ﷺ combined Maghrib and ʿIshāʾ at Jamʿ—he prayed three rakʿahs for Maghrib and two for ʿIshāʾ with one iqāmah.”
Muslim then said: Abū Bakr ibn Abī Shaybah related to us; ʿAbd Allāh ibn Numayr related to us; Ismāʿīl ibn Abī Khālid related to us, from Abū Isḥāq, who said: Saʿīd ibn Jubayr remarked, “We set out with Ibn ʿUmar until we reached Jamʿ. He led us in Maghrib and ʿIshāʾ with a single iqāmah and then moved on, saying, ‘This is how the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed with us at this spot.’”
Al-Bukhārī said: Khālid ibn Makhlad narrated to us; Sulaymān ibn Bilāl narrated to us; Yaḥyā ibn Saʿīd narrated to me; ʿAdī ibn Thābit narrated to me; ʿAbd Allāh ibn Yazīd al-Khaṭmī narrated to me; Abū Ayyūb al-Anṣārī related that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ combined Maghrib and ʿIshāʾ at Muzdalifah during the Farewell Pilgrimage. Al-Bukhārī also recorded it in the Book of Expeditions through al-Qaʿnabī.
