The Judge of Yemen, Abū Aḥmad Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd Allāh al-Zubayrī, and Muʿtamar ibn Sulaymān (1) likewise transmitted it from Ayman ibn Nābil al-Ḥabashī, Abū ʿImrān al-Makkī, a resident of ʿAsqalān and a freedman of Abū Bakr al-Ṣiddīq (2)—a trustworthy and eminent narrator cited by al-Bukhārī—on the authority of Qudāmah ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAmmār al-Kilābī. Qudāmah said: “I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ pelting the Jamrah on the Day of Sacrifice from the middle of the valley while mounted on a light-coloured she-camel, without striking it, driving it on (5), or calling out, ‘Make way, make way.’”
Al-Tirmidhī (3) reported the same ḥadīth through Aḥmad ibn Manīʿ from Marwān ibn Muʿāwiyah. It was also recorded by al-Nasāʾī (4) through Isḥāq ibn Rāhawayh, and by Ibn Mājah (5) through Abū Bakr ibn Abī Shaybah—both of them via Wakīʿ, both of them from Ayman ibn Nābil, from Qudāmah—in the very wording preserved by Imām Aḥmad. Al-Tirmidhī declared it “ḥasan ṣaḥīḥ” (good and authentic).
