Al-Bukhārī also reported: “Muḥammad ibn Salām narrated to us; Surayj ibn al-Nuʿmān narrated to us; Fulayḥ narrated to us, from Nāfiʿ, from Ibn ʿUmar, who said: ‘The Prophet ﷺ jogged through three circuits and walked four, in both Ḥajj and ʿUmrah.’”
Al-Layth corroborated this: “Kuthayr ibn Firqad related to me, from Nāfiʿ, from Ibn ʿUmar, from the Prophet ﷺ.” This wording is unique to al-Bukhārī. Al-Nasāʾī likewise transmitted it through Muḥammad and ʿAbd al-Raḥmān, the two sons of ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAbd al-Ḥakam, both from Shuʿayb ibn al-Layth, from his father al-Layth ibn Saʿd, from Kuthayr ibn Firqad, from Nāfiʿ, from Ibn ʿUmar.
Al-Bukhārī further said: “Ibrāhīm ibn al-Mundhir narrated to us; Abū Ḍamrah Anas ibn ʿIyāḍ narrated to us; Mūsā ibn ʿUqbah narrated to us, from Nāfiʿ, from ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUmar: Whenever the Messenger of Allah ﷺ began his circumambulation in Ḥajj or ʿUmrah, he would jog three circuits and walk four, then pray two prostrations, after which he would go on to perform saʿy between al-Ṣafā and al-Marwah.” Muslim also recorded it through the narration of Mūsā ibn ʿUqbah.
Al-Bukhārī also reported: “Ibrāhīm ibn al-Mundhir narrated to us; Anas narrated to us, from ʿUbayd Allāh ibn ʿUmar, from Nāfiʿ, from Ibn ʿUmar, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, when making the first tawāf around the House, would trot for three circuits and walk four, and he would hasten through the valley floor (Batn al-Masīl) while performing saʿy between al-Ṣafā and al-Marwah.” Muslim likewise transmitted it through ʿUbayd Allāh ibn ʿUmar.
Muslim stated: “ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUmar ibn Abān al-Juʿfī informed us; Ibn al-Mubārak informed us; ʿUbayd Allāh informed us, from Nāfiʿ, from Ibn ʿUmar.” He said: “The Messenger of Allah ﷺ jogged from the Black Stone to the Black Stone for three circuits and walked four.” Muslim then narrated the same purport through Sulaym ibn Akhḍar, from ʿUbayd Allāh.
Muslim also said: “Abū Ṭāhir related to me; ʿAbd Allāh ibn Wahb related to me; Mālik and Ibn Jurayj informed me …”
